With this etude I aimed to incorporate Bach's technique of suggesting polyphonic voice movement using only a single line into the ubiquitous standard tune, All The Things You Are. This technique is most clearly displayed in his writing for violin and cello. The B Minor violin partitas have over time become part of the jazz guitar pedagogy and this etude is a contribution to the ongoing, timeless conversation between Bebop and Bach.
